Codiga is an online platform that detects coding issues as you write them and automatically suggests one-click fixes according to your programming style and goals. Codiga helps developers write better code faster. Developers get real-time feedback about their code quality within their IDE. Codiga automates code reviews on Github, Gitlab and Bitbucket, ensuring code quality before deploying in production.

What is so exciting about the opportunity?

The platform solves a real problem, developers spend too much time untangling bad code and it is very expensive. It has a strong economic driver since high-salary Senior developers spend between 1 and 2 hours working on their team technical debt.

The market opportunity is big and growing allowing projections of $+2B in revenues. Growth is driven by the increase in software jobs requirements and lower quality of entry level developers.

“Software is eating the world: our reliance on software is constantly increasing and without solutions to increase productivity, developers will not deliver fast enough. Our vision is to help developers ship high-quality code faster.” said Julien Delange.

Add to the mix an outstanding team

Big problem (check), huge market (check), but what makes Codiga unique is its team, their bold vision combined with fast and frugal execution. They are iterating really fast and showing signs that they are building a great product based on the users feedback. Founded by Former AWS, Twitter Staff Engineer, MIT Press author Julien Delange, and former Coderise.org and Holberton School Colombia executive Jessica Mercedes.

They make a great balanced and multicultural team, Jessica was born in Dominican Republic, Julien in France and they both live in the USA. Julien is a super technical founder with +15 years of experience in big tech companies in SF and is also co-author of the book “Technical debt in practice” published by MIT press (https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/technical-debt-practice). Jessica has been working in the Latam tech ecosystem for many years and her communication skills are amazing.

With this 1.5M pre-seed round, the team aims to perfect their real-time feedback tool and expand to more environments, including Web-based developer environments such as GitHub codespaces, Replit or Gitpod.

We are excited to be partnering with Codiga and fill the world with great code!
